Although absent from Dead Rising, money makes an appearance in every other entry in the series.
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop
Money was first used in Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop as a means of getting new weapons and ammunition from Cletus. Money would be rewarded by killing zombies or saving survivors or completing certain tasks.
Dead Rising 2
In Dead Rising 2, you can collect money in a variety of ways.
- A very good way to get a lot of money is defeating Jessica, Nevada and Jacob in a game of poker. If you beat them all, Chuck receives $1,000,000.
- By contesting in Terror is Reality (An online 4-player mini-game mode that will bring your money over to your single-player file).
- By destroying ATMs (Each ATM will give $2,500).
- By using the Hacker on ATMs (Each hacked ATM will give $10,000).
- By destroying Slot Machines (Roughly 1 in 5 chance of money, $100-$300 per machine when it does).
- By playing single-player mini-games like the slots ($100 to spin, varying rewards), Money-Grab ($100 to enter, about $103 for moderate button mashing), and more.
- By heavily damaging Cash Registers (a weapon, as soon as it enters red from melee use or is thrown once it will give between $300 and $500 cash)
- There is a large slot game next to the entrance of the Food Court in the Slot Ranch Casino, get all the gambling magazines, make sure you have $25,000-$50,000, and bet on the $1,000 button. It won't always give you the big cash prizes immediatly, but with patience you can win up to $100,000. It is a really easy way to make tons of money.
Money is primarily used in Pawn Shops to buy Zombrex, Combo Weapons, and unlockables (Such as car keys or the boots for the Knight Armor).
- If you see money in front of a slot machine, pick it up and play that exact machine 5-6 times. This is a good way to make easy money.
